im allowed 2500g of sodium daily but am always well under that amount. Today, for examole, I think I only hit 200 or so units which brings me quite alot under actually. This is a regular occurance. Anyone else consume alot less than their recommendation and is it somwthing i should be worried about?

you shoud try and get some more in, it will help keep your muscle's hydrated and save you from painful cramps, you will retain a little bit of water but that can easily shed off

I'm the same, think its because I don't have much processed food. Does seem a lot doesn't it. Would welcome an experts advice as I do a lot of exercise and my legs always ache and I wondered if this was due to lack of salt but reluctant to add it into my diet until sure.

You need some, but not 2500 mg unless you are eating a lot. You should try to get less than a mg per calorie as I understand the current US recommendations. My goal is 2000, but I try to stay under it. If you don't exercise, you only need about 180 mg per day, but sweating causes your needs to increase. I think it's agreed that you should try to get at least 500 mg, but that's a subject for debate in the US, and in Canada, I think the recommendation is much higher, 1500 mg minimum.
