I got a new fit bit and today it gave me 465 exercise calories after shopping and housework. That does not seem right, anyone else have this issue?

what does it say for the overall calories for the day?0

My regular calorie amount is 1220 and it added 465 so now I have 1685 for the day.0

I was wondering what the fitbit dashboard said, not what your mfp calories allotment is.0

If your overall burn on FitBit is the same as what MFP estimates, you're fine and eating what MFP tells you to (including the extras from the FitBit) should produce the results you're looking for.
If you click in to "Goals" and where it says "Your Normal Daily Activity" on the right hand side... if that number is anywhere close to a normal day with your FitBit but without a workout, you should be fine.
I'd recommend not synching the Fitbit with MFP. Just know the calories burned by Fitbit and the calories you ate in MFP and understand that if the Fitbit says you burned more than you ate that day you're fine to lose.
Alternatively, you can set your MFP goal to "Maintain my current weight" and then sync your Fitbit and know that however many calories you leave on the table at the end of the day will be your caloric deficit for the day.0 -
Sorry, I misunderstood the question. Fit bit dashboard says calories for the day is 1742.0

It's the fitbit adjustment and it is going to be like that most every day that you do any activity. The other poster suggested that you don't sync it to mfp. Did you say this was your first day wearing it? You are going to have to play around with the numbers to see what works for you. If you are in the 1700-1800 range right now on fitbit and the day is not over yet the number should go up. 1200 calories is pretty low for most people so the fitbit adjustment is probably correct.0

Thanks for the advice. No it is my 2nd day but on Friday I was at work so it only gave me100. I thought that seemed reasonable. Think I am just going to try using half of what it gives me and see how that works. You were very helpful.0

Look at your MFP home page, and then Click GOALS
on the right hand side, there is a CALORIES FROM DAILY ACTIVITY.
That's what MFP thinks you will burn on a daily basis, without exercise, based on teh activity level you put in
This is what The FB calories are compared to , and why you get exercise calories added.
Lets say it says 1500 calories, if your FB says you burned 1750, you will get 250 added as exercise calories.
When mine was constantly doing that, I just increased my MFP activity level from sedentary to lightly active, and the two numbers were much closer.0
