What is your workout plan?

I'm on the 'Insanity' 60 day fitness. After that is finished, I'm moving onto Insanity: Asylum.
In between workouts, I do MMA Personal Trainer.
I also like to go swimming. It's a nice way to work out while cooling off.

Anyways, just curious about your workout plans.

I have to find ways to cardio that i enjoy or i tend not to do it. I will do some jogging or elliptical from time to time but i get my main cardio from basketball 1 or 2 times a week or martial art training. With that being said i don't really feel that cardio is all that important for me. I do strength training 3 times a week on a modified stronglift type routine.

Lol, it's tough but I love it. I kind of have the whole go big or go home attitude, so it really appeals to me. I recently bought a heart rate monitor and I've found that knowing how many calories I'm burning is extremely motivating and makes me want to push harder!

I'm only on day 6!! Well, today is my day 7 I guess :) Its kicking my *kitten* too! But in a great way :) about 3 days a week I go into my gym and do a quick 4 mile run just to keep the running going. I like the interval training of insanity, but you know :) and then 3 other days a week I do circuit training at my gym called the "Crossfit Bootcamp" class which is actually a lot like the insanity workouts but with weights and not as fast-paced. Its been great to do the insanity it really helps!! I hope I can make it through all 60 days though cause the pure cardio one yesterday was a killer!!

I was on week 4 of insanity and I think I tore a ligament in my ankle. It swelled up bad and i couldn't put much weight on it. the pain went away in a week, but stayed swollen. I tried insanity again and my ankle started yelling at me again. :( I really liked how much endurance I was getting and how accomplished I felt. I am so sad to give it up.

i am applying for a Y membership and I will start swimming 3 times a week. I would like to do weights 3 times a week as well. hopefully this will do SOMETHING for me.
  • Good answers, good answers.
I need to invest in a HRM and a food scale. I can't measure steaks and pork chops for *kitten*.

I buy thin cut pork chops, always boneless. I should use my scale a little more often, I over estimate my food alot though. I love my HRM I was using while doing insanity, it really made me push more. I need to see if it will go inthe pool?

Im starting 30 day shred tomorow and doing it mon-fri and having weekends off. Also going to do Leslie Sansone 5 mile walk (60mins) 3 days a week and maybe some HASfit low impact workouts too. I aim for 3-5 hrs a week exercise, and trying to get more strength workouts in. Im wanting to lose a few inches as Im not too bothered about weight now.

New rules of lifting Superchaged! First week and I LOVE it!

I have been off the gym for few months, and I love how tired I am at night and how healthy I sleep after workout!
  • I'm enjoying these answers. They give me new ideas..

Fit57, you actually made me think of something. I work nights, so I have to find a side workout that's going to keep me from being TOO tired at work. hahaha

I do Zumba in the home following a video, now for 30 mins each morning and in the evening when I get home I do 30 mins of intermittent walking and jogging on the treadmill, made more interesting by watching my favourite movies in parts. I use another app to aid the intermittent timings. The calories burned for the Zumba I guess as equivalent to 'myfitnesspal' aerobics calculations, hope this is about right? My partner is to lend me his heart monitor to check it out.

Oh, it's not this one! I was off the gym and stressful project in work completely kept me awake for nights up to level I was going to see the doctor!

After the first two workouts (which I do by the way mid morning) I sleep like baby, as soon as I smell the pillow I am out until the morning! It's amazing really I am even more annoyed now that I stopped working out last few months at all.

I do wake up super rested so not like tired all the time, just healthy tired if you know what I mean

A 50 min Cardio training 2 or 3 times a week and I do a Kettlebell workout for 20-30 min
    at home twice a week.
As soon as my stamina improves I want to start Insanity.
