Anyone suffer from gallbladder pain/issues? What helps you with the pain? Other than pain meds. I'm thinking teas, food, home remedies, exercises, etc.

What types of food can you handle while you're having the pain?

I know citrus, cheese, and high fat foods are usually a bust. Any other foods?

When mine went bad anything with coconut or palm oil killed me. There is no pain worse than biliary colic!! I've had 3 children naturally, had abscessed teeth and ear infections that burst my eardrums, but NOTHING hurts worse!

Truly, the only real resolution is to have the gall bladder removed. I ended up getting deathly ill... severely jaundiced... fever. Instead of the nice, simple laproscopic procedure I ended up with open surgery, a t-tube for a month to drain bile since the bile duct was swollen shut from a stone that couldn't pass through it, and an 8 inch scar. The last 2 weeks before the surgery all I could eat was one jelly sandwich a day and water with Raspberry ice crystal light... it was years before I could drink that again! Over the counter pain medications like ibuprofen or tylenol might take the edge off, but really isn't of much help. Avoid fatty foods and any other foods that might be triggers for you as you come across them, but truly, the only real cure is having the gall bladder out. Don't put it off and have it end up an emergency like I did!

While I was waiting on my surgery day, I was able to stomach plain baked potatoes, baked fish, Greek yogurt, and some apple cider. I had read, although never tried it, where unfiltered apple cider with a little bit of apple cider vinegar, was actually one of those home remedies for gallbladder attacks to help with the pain. Luckily, I got mine out before another attack and have been pain free and doing great since.
