Just Wandering Over From 3FC.

Hey everyone! I mostly post at 3FC, but I recently started using the MFP tracker/app, and I love it! It is so much more extensive than the DailyPlate I've been using at Livestrong. (I'm still concurrently using both of them until I get more data on MFP, but I think I'll end up using this one more.) Anyways, so...I saw that there was a community over here, so I figured I'd pop in and check it out. I like 3FC, but I am a believer that - when it comes to giving and receiving support - the more, the merrier! Plus, I've seen a lot of regulars over there mention this place, so I'm sure it's just as awesome here, too.
A little about me: My name is Casey, I'm 28, and I'm originally from Northern California, but am currently living on the state line of AL & GA with my husband and two stepkiddos. I am trying to lose over a hundred pounds. Actually, 127 more pounds to be exact! :noway: It seems like such a daunting feat at the moment, but I have already lost 20 lbs since mid-February taking it one day at a time. Just got to keep going now! Ha. As for my current diet and exercise, I am a vegetarian who plans to go vegan by 2014 and possibly at least 75% raw. But, I'm taking it slower while I learn the best ways to go about it. I started doing yoga videos and walking, but I want to start the C25k program soon, because I like to envision myself becoming a real runner someday. Time will tell. I've also bookmarked a few free videos of the 30 Day Shred program online and might begin those after I lose a little more weight. Anyone here have any success with C25k or 30DS?
Not sure what else to say...always been horrible at these kinds of things, lol. But, I'm sure we'll all get to know each other soon enough. Just wanted to say hi! :flowerforyou:

welcome! i'm on 3FC also. and i am a vegetarian as well! i'm always looking for new recipe ideas0

I also go between MFP and the daily plate - I think maybe I've settled on MFP, although entering recipes is more annoying on MFP... As you get more familiar with MFP, I'm curious to hear which one you prefer, since I can't decide for myself0

SmurphyKU: Awesome! Nice to meet you over here, lol. (I have the same name over on 3FC, as well.) And, I just got the Veganomicon cookbook after several suggestions, so if I find anything especially tasty in there, I will share it with you.
Sarahalley16: I am still getting used to the layout of MFP, and I wish it had the auto-suggestion drop-down menu like there is on MyPlate, but I'm still beginning to lean towards MFP. So far, it seems like the food options in the MFP data system are vastly more expanded than what MyPlate has, so I've been having to do less manual inclusions. The caloric values also seem to be more consistently accurate with the actual items on here. After awhile, I'll let you know who I think wins in the end...haha.
toho5555: 3FC is a popular acronym for the website 3fatchicks.com. I feel like the name is a little silly, so I don't mention it often to people in real life, but the community is great and is fully of wonderfully nice and supportive people. A lot of them mentioned they are over here in this community as well, so I feel like coming here is just opening up a larger network of like-minded people. Or, vice versa if you are from here and check it out over there.0
