    it is completely different from tolkien. sure, if you want to boil each author down to their most superficial of genres, then i suppose they are both fantasy writers, but tolkien and martin have vastly different styles, characterizations, focus in plot. only someone that hasn't read them would even attempt to compare them.

    We've lasted 2 years without cable...but I think I might cave this week just to get HBO for Sunday. Don't think I can last a whole year for the dvd to come out as season 3 is going to KICK. *kitten*.
