Using Jillian Michaels Body Revolution With Other Exercise

I'm starting Jillian Michaels Body Revolution tomorrow, and I know it's a six day per week program. Has anyone else ever done it and mixed it in with other exercise? The DVDs are only 30 minutes long, so I figure I can add a yoga or aqua class at the health club on two or three days per week, as well as some walking on days when I feel particularly motivated.
I'm not doing the one week power start, just jumping right into the program. I won't be following her diet, although I plan to use some of the recipes in the book that came with the set. I know how to eat right, so I just need to put that into action. I lost quite a bit of weight over the past couple of years, but I got lazy and gained 8 pounds back, so I'm at that point where I need to put the brakes on the backsliding and get myself moving forward again.
Oh, and since I'm new here, I'd love friends who are using or have used the same program or who just want a support/accountability partner.

i just got Jillian Michaels Body Revolution yesterday and i may start it today as well!
i do her Yoga Meltdown dvd every morning, and I was actually thinking of adding the Body Revolution to the mix.. probably do it in the afternoons, as well as a 30 minute walk on days where the weathers actually nice. i have a treadmill but i hate using it.
I also won't be following her diet as I can't afford it lol.
but welcome to MFP! you'll wonder what you've ever done without it!
i'll add you!0 -
I'm starting Week 5 of JMBR today. I read a ton of reviews before I started the program and decided to adjust it for me. I heard that the cardio DVDs aren't very impressive and get boring, so I haven't done those. I do the 4 days of strength DVDs and then on cardio days I do my own and mix it up. I've found with it being only 30 minutes it is super easy to get in more exercise.
I'm also not following the diet plan, but tracking calories here. So far, so good. I haven't had HUGE results yet, but I also don't have a lot to lose. I have noticed big improvements in my endurance and strength, so I take that as a win.0 -
Amanda, definitely let me know if you're starting it today. I did my first DVD first thing in the morning, as that's the only way I can force myself to fit in exercise. I'm not doing the kickstart, since I'll be working in other types of exercise. That first DVD kicked my butt, but in a good way. I know I'm going to feel it, especially in my arms, tomorrow. I liked that Jillian works in some yoga moves, and she has modifications so you can make it more challenging as you get more fit. Now she just needs to add some people with a body type closer to mine, although the hard bodies are inspiring.0

Im on my 4th week of jillian michaels Body revolution and am seeing great results. Im kinda doing her meal plan but its expensive so i do my own meals sometimes and still count calories etc. I did the 7 day kickstart and got a great number. You can do the kickstart at the end also if you want to lose an extra 5-8lbs. I workout in the morning and do cardio at night zumba kickboxing etc. I didnt start working out at night until 3 weeks in and noticed a difference.0

I just started jillan's program on Sunday. I am not following her diet plan, but wear a Fitbit One and track on MFP. I am just follwing the program as it is intended. I didn't do the fast start. I am really enjoying the 30 minute workouts. Very doable. I was doing Cathe Xtrain but was getting bored, thought I would try this. I have seen great results posted on these boards with JMBR.0

I just started week 4. I've been doing Yoga 3 mornings a week and then do her DVD's at night. I also skip her Cardio DVD's and do my own. I am a runner and usually use that as my cardio.0

It's great to see another Fitbit user! I love that little thing.
I think I'm going to schedule two visits to the health club pool per week as a second workout each day. I'll either do a water aerobics class or just do some walking laps. That will be a nice change-up from Jillian, although I do like her style. I'm used to Leslie Sansone's eternally nice demeanor, so Jillian's in-your-face instruction is a good change of pace.0
