Effective Diets

Hey :) I've been researching diets such as Slim Fast and the Paleo diet, but the thing is that I love meat and stuff too much to be able to stick with the Paleo one, however I could do the Slim Fast one if I got the kit somehow (I live on campus), but does anyone else know of any diets that are both healthy and effective in weight loss?

Thanks!

Eat less move more - pretty simple - don't go over an allotted # of calories ( I am going by what was calculated by MFP - 1200 a day) - log all your food - get some aerobic exercise - daily ideal - to burn some calories - add in some toning exercise a few days a week. I am sure other plans "work" but it all boils down to calories in and calories expended. If you want to find something that you can incorporate into your life long term - I say eat things you enjoy - but in quantities that will allow you to lose weight not gain. Start learning how many calories are in the foods you love - and if they are really high, make some changes - switch from red meat to lower caloric protein - like fish or chicken and tofu - try finding some substitutions or alter the way you prepare food - less cheese or no cheese on pizza if you love pizza - etc. Add in lots of veggies and reasonable amount of fruit - eat whole grains (brown rice, quinoa)- try to eat as "clean" as possible - little to no processed food. Drink lots of water. That's about it - I am losing on this plan and it is something I can continue even after I lose weight. I'm not a fan of plans like "Slim Fast" etc. - eat real food that is nutritious and healthy - better way to go imho! Good luck.:drinker:

the best diet: NONE....... if you do diet most, most likely you are going to gain all those pounds back

the best way to lose weight: changing your life habit

exercise, eat fruits, vegetables, peanut butter, and yogurt.... make sure you eat enough proteins
  • I already do this, it's not really helping. I've been in a plateau for like two months now.
