Hello again, I know I keep asking questions about plateauing but it can get really confusing to me. Alright so two weeks ago i upped my cals from 1200 to 1300-1500. I have only exercised maybe twice since then. I feel as if I have gained 10 pounds just from upping my cals because I feel like I have been eating so much food. =/ But anyway, it's been about two weeks and I'm not sure if I should continue with this amount of calories and minimal exercise for the rest of this week or should I start exercising again and drop my calories down a little? and if I do am I supposed to eat those calories back? (I wasn't before when I was eating 1200...bad I know) Also, I feel like I have a nice toned body because I'm really into pilates and I mainly want to lose the extra fat to bring out what I've been working hard at. Does this mean I should only focus on cardio orr...? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
btw I am 5'1" and 120 lbs (if that helps at all)

I'm not sure why you should lower your calories and THEN increase the work out. If you just increase your workout now, your calories will drop. (net)
It sounds like you're more concerned with bodyfat than the numbers on the scale; which is good. You shouldn't focus soley on cardio in this case, since you'll lose weight more so than fat. (There is a difference). A good strength program, with lifting weights will help you to shed body fat, and get those muscles bigger. (Which is what toning is, muscles can't be "toned". They can get bigger, or they can get smaller).
You shouldn't have to "eat back" calories; which a lot of people seem to advocate here. If you're not hungry constantly and your energy levels aren't dropping, then don't worry about it. (You should be taking a multivitamin, cause dieting or not, no way you're meeting all your RDV's).0 -
So I should stick with eating 1300-1500 calories and workout? I was confused and thought that if i had increased my calories for a few weeks with little exercise and then dropped the calories down a little and exercised the amount I normally do (but switching up between cardio and weights, since I normally only do weights and pilates) that it would reset my body and I would start losing the weight again. As for vitamins I do take them I just don't log them. Oops.0
