Foods We Are Not Meant to Eat

I don't remember where, but I read that there are foods our bodies are not meant to eat. Like processed foods, milk, grains that are not in their whole form, refuned sugars, etc. Has anyone else heard this? I know with the advance of the Paleo diet and "caveman" eating this may make some sense.
I am a believer that your body can get rid of whole natural foods easier than processed junk. I think the processed stuff clogs up our bodies. Give me real butter anyday!

Our bodies are also not meant to take medication (like taking life saving antibiotics when septic, insulin injections for diabetics, chemo for cancer patients) or have surgery to correct heart problems, or to replace damaged/failing organs, etc.

I'm sticking with my awesome artificial stuff. Scientists are smart and I've never gotten sick from eating processed/artificially made food. The earth produces tons of different toxic plants. That being said, I still eat some of the non toxic foods created by the earth. I just also eat artificial sweeteners, preservatives, etc.

There is no benefit to cutting out processed foods. IIFYM then eat it.

Wouldn't you consider butter a processed food which comes from milk?

I agree with you crafty, just the term 'artificial' should be a warning, its NOT the real thing, why eat something if its not real? As far as which natural foods are okay or not, I think everything in moderation. On another note I've heard recently about how eating more fruits and veggies and less meat is not only what our bodies are designed to do but will help save the earth. Growing animals for consumption is a huge strain on resources (water, land, grain etc). I have paleo friends but its not for me personally, I appreciate oat meal and peanut butter, but their theory is on the right path IMHO.

Yes, that is true and I never thought about that. And butter is technically processed milk. But, my motto is still the closer to natural the better.

I love this. Great post. As a natural skeptic, I am not convinced that the warm feeling some folks get by eating "natural" makes them any healthier than those of us who shovel Spenda and Aspartame by the bucket. (All other things being equal)

Of course, I respect those who disagree. It takes all kinds.
