Not sure where to post this but it's important

Thought this could possibly go in the chit chat section but after reading through and responding to one thread about women who post pics of themselves wearing bras and panties I decided that was too much for me and couldn't possibly be where I should post this information. So I'll try it here.
This was on CNN today. CVS/Pharmacy, a company I used to work for a long time ago, announced that they will soon be "asking" every employee to submit their current weight and BMI to company headquarters. It's "optional"....ha ha,,,, but if the employee refuses to comply they will be "fined" $50.00...PER MONTH! Yep. $50.00 of cold hard earned cash taken out of employee paychecks from the highest paid Regional Pharmacy Manager to the lowest paid minimum wage clerk. The clerks are generally high school and college students, as well as older workers who need a 2nd job to help put food on the table or seniors who should be able to retire but need the job to survive because they can't live on SS checks. The federal min wage is 7.25 an hour. So if you go with that as an average @15 hours per week, that's a take home pay of about 90.00 a week after taxes and CVS wants to "fine" these people 50.00 a month for refusing to disclose their weight and BMI? And what will they do with this information? Can they use it to fire people who are not in their acceptable range? Can they use it not to hire anybody that's not in their acceptable range? Not offer full time employees health care coverage or perhaps put "them" in a special high risk pool and charge higher rates? I think this is outrageous and I hope to God some employee takes them on and starts a lawsuit. People didn't care when smokers got dumped on, because it wasn't them. Now it's fat people. What's next? People who consume alcohol? Sugar and processed foods? Red meat? People who drive sports cars? Motorcycles? Like to hang glide?
If they are allowed to do this, you will see other companies following suit like a bunch of dominoes. Since we have an obesity epidemic in this country, this is going to affect a LOT of people. Guess I won't be applying there again until I have lost the weight....nah just kidding. I'd rather rub a metal cheese grater up and down my shins every day for the rest of my life than work for them again.
