can you binge and gain fat from fruit?

i went nuts over some fruit salad (after dinner, and i had at least 3 cups of fruit) and i weighed myself just for kicks... +5lbs! obvi its all water weight and so i'm not worried, but since fruit is pretty much sugars and starchy carbs, will they go straight to the fat cells if i'm not doing any exercise after dinner? this isn't like a rare occurrence or anything, I'd rather binge on fruit and veggies and i do.

You can't gain fat weight with fruit, but you may temporarily feel bloated just because of the food combinations of the day, but fruit is like 80% water, so eventually it all goes away, in fact with all that fiber is good for weight loss. Check out Freelee the Banana girl :)

    Or, you know, don't.

Because the odds of you both having the activity level to support three thousand calories of bananas a day AND posting to a forum worried that the three cups of fruit salad you ate for dinner are going to turn you into a mythic landwhale are somewhere in the 'laughable' to 'whimsically absurd' range.

Fruits do have a certain amount of carbs so they're a great way to stave off sugar cravings. IT depends on what kind of diet you're on. If you're doing low-carb it's better to not go nuts over fruits.

Also, they are very high in fiber so if you aren't careful you can end up making yourself sick if you seriously binge up to 2000 calories worth of fruits. You can also end up getting too many vitamins and making yourself sick.

    Moderation in all things!
