    probably water retention

    lack of carbs means less glycogen in your muscles... Bodybuilders call this look "flat".... water can also be a factor

    I eat carbs. been drinking loads of water though coz I do a lot of excercise

    well then its probably subcutaneous water retention... I should also note that high repetition weight training will make your muscles bigger for a prolonger period (any pump workout)... Some guys can add over an inch to their arms in a workout and have it last for over a day...

    so nothing to worry about? seems odd when i upped the strength work to appear LESS toned is all

    if you upped your strength work you could have easily depleted more of the glycogen within your muscles.... thats normal and its not bad...
