I just started MFP last week and I started my time of the month a few days later. I had to weight myself today and I gained a few more pounds. I have been trying so hard all week and I stilled gained. Is this common or am I doing something wrong?

Doesn't necessarily mean you're doing anything wrong; everyone's body is different and weight can fluctuate depending on the time of the month. For example, a lot of people i know retain water and bloat whilst they are on their period, which adds a couple of pounds, but i always get that for the week before i'm due on. It's worth tracking, just in case.
Then again, you could be doing something wrong...have you been honestly logging your food and exercise daily and staying under your calorie intake? What's your height and current weight?
But don't get discouraged, for some people it takes a good week or two before they actually start losing weight, so stick at it and don't give up!0 -
I think it's healthy for women to have girl time. It' s good to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and away from all of us pesky men and just be able to let your guard down and talk to other girls. It could be about shoes, shopping, making sandwiches, or just what the neighbor's wife is doing with that horrible selection of flowers in their yard. Anything like this for stress relief has to be good for you.
Hope you can find some good women here to have girl time with.
