What are the best excercise videos

Hi There,
I am so new this and want to do this right. I did atkins a couple of years back and lost 40 lbs, they have since found their way back on to me now.
I tried to do atkins again but it isn't working this time so I figured I would do this the right way not only for me but for my 12 year daughter who is a little heavier than she should be.
I do have jillian michaels 30 day shred but I am looking for some more effective DVD videos that my daughter and i can do together.
also should we do cardio everyday or should we throw in some pilates or yoga videos?
there is so much information that it gets overwhelming. tracking my food is really opening my eyes to how much we actually consume.
