Carrots and braces...

So I tried adding some baby carrots to my lunch and I can't eat them because of my braces. Any ideas for what I can eat with my lunch that would be easier with my braces.....frustrating!!!!!

I've had mine on for 5 months , still struggle eating most foods :) although always seem to manage okay with the unhealthy foods ;)
  • I tried biting them all different ways lol.....I might try celery even though I hate it just to see how it goes.

I usually cut them into smaller pieces (like maybe 1/4 to 1/3 inch, pretty small, takes a little while to eat, but hey eating slower is filling right? tehehe) and use my back teeth (chewing slowly). I use same chewing method with nuts and celery, and just try to be super careful. Ive had my braces for a year and have only broken 1 bracket (it was on a granole bar that I didnt realize had whole almonds in it). Cucumbers are super easy to eat, right now I am hooked on baby cucumbers and eat them whole. Ive found raw broccoli super hard to try to eat and havent figured out how to get that down.

I shred my carrots into salad. I also bite my carrots with my back teeth when necessary.

Cucumber and celery are also great options except I'm spending a while getting the celery strings out of my braces.

I had braces for 2.5 years while I was losing weight - for all harder foods dice, chop, cut into smaller bite sized pieces. as long as it's cut into small enough pieces it shouldn't be a problem to chew on your back teeth. A little more work but it helps with not popping off brackets.

I had braces for many years. I was able to eat most things, I just had to cut them up instead of biting into them.
Carrots, Celery, Apples, Corn on the cob, etc.
