taco taco, burrito burrito \m/
I just read this in Cartman's Spanish voice...
I did the same damn thing... LOL!!!0 -
Slice the steak thin, marinate at least ten minutes in lime juice, cook with onions. Original would be cooked in lard.
As for the tortillas, you just have to start with fresh ones, bonus if you make them yourself.0 -

I'm down with lard. Seriously. I want some REAL TACO coming out of my kitchen. And just lime juice? I can handle that...0 -
Really simple, authentic steak tacos (minus the tortilla):
- Steak - like a pan frying steak - doesn't have to be fancy
- An entire bundle (or two) of Cilantro
- White Onions
- Lime Juice
Get the steak frying in the pan - add salt and pepper whenever. Can add a bit of oil to the pan if you want.
Finely chop the onions and cilantro.
Pull the steak out of the pan, and finely chop it too.
I like to then add all of this in a bowl, and mix. Then add lime juice to taste. Can add some salt/pepper here too.
If you want to heat it up a bit more, throw it all back in the pan for a minute or two.
When eating, you could add some salsa, (salsa verde is best here) ...
Seriously - this is the easiest, cleanest, and most authentic tasting home-made steak taco I've found.
(No cheese, sour cream, guac needed).0 -
...I will love you forever. Like... 100 Schrute Bucks worth of lovin.
I am not going to be able to help you on the taco recipe, just found it amusing that you posted about Schrute Bucks and I happen to be watching that episode right now, haha.
YES! Hi five your TV for me.

I'm not mexican but from my experience the trick to preparing really good tacos is to massage them open slowly or they break into a million emotional pieces.0

Marinate with lime juice, some pico de gio, wrap let sit for a few hours in the fridge (will make it very tender) Make sure to cook on a low to medium heat with some of the marinade....
Corn tortias should be pan fried to make them crispy...........
Topping with avocado ,lime lettuce and a little pico de gio (basically cilantro, finely chopped onion and tomatoe, lime juice0 and go0 -

I bet the meat is marinated, yo.... and don't use top round, because it is tough. No matter how I cook it, I can't get it right.
you have to beat it first before you marinate it0 -
Well that's easy. For corn tortillas you just need some masa, salt, and water. Mix about 2 or 2.5 cups of masa, .25 tsp of salt, and 1 to 1.5 cups of warm water, section it out and press it with a tortilla press. If you don't have a tortilla press I guess you can use a rolling pin. After that you just warm it on the stove-- about 2 minutes for each side. For steak filling, you'll need about a pound of steak (duh.), two minced garlic cloves, .25 tsp or cinnamon and salt, and chipotle powder to taste. Mixed the garlic, salt, and chili, rub it on the steak, grill it up to your desired done-ness. Let it sit for about 10 minutes then carve it up. Top it with whatever you usually like on your tacos.0
