Not getting hungry, especially when working out

So I have been doing a decent amount of exercise and have noticed on the days where I work out I dont get hungry.
I eat a solid breakfast of about 500 calories, but I almost never get those hunger responses, and even when I do they usually go away in about 10-15 minutes tops. Some days I will get to near the end of the day with less than a 1000 calories consumed(with burning off 600-700 first thing in the morning) get a little hungry minutes before my workout, go to my work out and then not be hungry the rest of the night.
On one hand this is awesome because I am not having troubles with food. The downside is that I am low energy the next day as well as not healing from workouts as quickly, if at all. So I am having to force myself to eat more.
Should I not bother? Just make sure that I get as much protein in as I can and only eat when hungry, or should I keep trying to make sure I get at least 2k a day. I am worried because now I am burning about 1000-1600 a day in exercise(doing insanity and P90x back to back, with a workout at the clubhouse in the evening 4 days a week)
Also should I up the calorie intake? I did not lose much weight during the first round of insanity, but lost quite a few inches so was overall satisfied with the results. I get the feeling that I might not be eating enough at this new level.

most people say they get hungry after working out, but im with you.. i am the opposite. doing cardio makes me less hungry. i dont know if you are the same but forcing myself to eat after cardio kind of jump started my hunger again. i dont do cardio anymore but give that a shot. how about some peanut butter? it is important to eat enough. your body needs fuel.0
