What to eat when sick?

I'm starting to get sick again. I was just sick a month ago with a sinus and chest infection and all I would eat when I got hungry was chips or icecream or hershey's kisses. Now I'm coming down with a cold and I'm not sure what's good to eat. I just bought a bunch of fruits before I got sick - raspberries, grapes, apples, and bananas. Is it alright to eat these? I also have a lot of yogurt, Blue Menu smoothie bars, carrots, and spinach.
I just don't want all the produce I bought to go to waste. Is it fine if I eat them still but just in small amounts? What is good to eat when you're sick?

You should try to avoid dairy products when your sick, as it create's more mucus in your body, aside from that eat your fruit and vegetables, and eat lean meats like fish and chicken try to avoid red meat, also drink lots of water to flush toxins out of your body.0

I don't know anything about the smoothie bars, but YES definitely eat your fruit and veg when you are sick, give your body healthy fuel to fight it off. You might want to wash everything with extra care, just because your immune system might be a bit low while you are fighting this infection. But yes, eat them up and enjoy.0

With a cold, you can pretty much eat anything. If there is an an element of nausea/vomiting/diarrhea, doctors recommend the BRAT diet -- banana, rice, applesauce, toast (as tolerated or desired).
For a cold/upper respiratory type of illness, especially if there is sore throat, I recommend warm/hot soup with as much cayenne pepper as you can stand. Cayenne is very effective at speeding recovery and has a long history of use as an anti-infective. I also add it to tea with honey.0 -
Eat whatever you would normally eat. Unless you're vomiting there's no need to change your food intake and I'm sure that chips and ice cream aren't a cure for anything.0

I'm not saying I ate chips and chocolate to help with my cold.0 -
Fruits and veggies are very good for you, especially when you are sick. Tons of naturally occuring vitamins and minerals as well as fluids. Try stirring spinach into some egg drop or chicken noodle soup for extra nutrition. It wilts down an awful lot so use a ton.
If all else fails pop the fruit in the freezer so you don't lose them (except the apples, but they will keep fine). Frozen blended bananas are delicious and give the mouth feel of ice cream; berries and grapes are great frozen or thawed.0
