Some gym advice..

Hello, all!
I am hoping to lose a stone or two quite quickly (not TOO quickly). Would there be any specific gym equipment which would be best to use? I don't want to gain too much muscle, I just want to burn fat. Also, I have a bit of a dodgy knee so I can't do too much that would impact my knee.
