Oops... over did my 1st time strength training

Just a questions I've always wondered about...

So I have done cardio exercise for over 6 weeks now, for roughly 600 cal./per workout (almost daily) on my elliptical. I thought I'd add strength training, so looked up some exercises and decided to go for the beginner's circuit on nerdfitness.com.

Yesterday, I warmed up on the elliptical for 20 minutes and then did the circuit, slowly but without stopping twice.

A third time (must've the serotonin that made be start a 3rd round), I could not get out of my second lunge... STUPID me, lol.

My upper front legs were on fire pretty much the whole night. It's a little better now (I used some enzyme N, traumeel, arnica and Birch oil on my upper legs), so that makes me wonder: should I just continue doing (light) cardio, or skip a day? Or two? What do you think?

Any opinions much appreciated!

I would do light cardio if you feel you are able to move around doing daily chores without much pain. If you can't, then just skip the day but do remember to do some light walking around and streching to avoid stiffness.

Hehehe, good ole leg day. This is why many people don't train legs. But kudos to you for doing it. Over time, that feeling will subside as your body gets use to the training and gets better at recovery.

As for doing cardio the next day. Maybe some walking on an incline, or light elliptical (basically, light cardio) or take a rest day. After a few times, you'll probably be better acclimated to the feeling and know intuitively what you should do.

    Again, nice job!

Take a rest day- or two- if you need it.
