For three to five days during the first full week of the month, I enjoy (that’s right, enjoy) a juice detox. I will typically drink freshly-squeezed juice (predominately veggie-based) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I also incorporate lots of water and a variety of herbal tea. It’s an amazing and cleansing way to start off the month.
I’m looking for some new and/or unique juice recipes to liven up my detox week. I typically drink my green lemonade daily (celery, kale, lemon, apple and ginger) whether I’m detoxing or not. I’d love to rotate in a few different juices this go-around that MFP folks have tried. Thanks for any input you might have!
Please feel free to add me as a friend and/or ask any questions about juicing, detoxing etc. This will be my fourth time detoxing in this way. Good luck in your journey, y’all.

I don't juice exclusively (I juice one meal per day) and I love it. I don't do it to so-called "detox" but because it gives me a super energy BOOST and helps me get in far more organic veggies than I could ever eat in one sitting.
My diary is opened, pls. feel free to take a peek and see what kinds of wild and exotic almost exclusively organic veggie juices I have daily. Warning, they are POWERFUL and I love them!0 -

I love my "green lemonade" for breakfast every morning year-round. I also drink it as a snack in the afternoon. It is SO good, and like you said, it's invigorating. It gives me so much energy. The folks at work tease me about my "green slime," but it's been great for me! Since I have started juicing, I've lost almost 20 pounds (I didn't start using MFP until after I had lost some weight). But most importantly it makes me feel oh-so-good.
That being said, when I have a detox week, I enjoy rotating in some new juices. I will definitely check yours out! Thanks so much.0 -

I love juicing but a nurse at work scared me off by telling me how high in calories and sugar it is. I think it's time for me to reconsider. I always loved beet juice, with lemon, ginger and apples. Yum!
I'd love to add you and look through your recipes. About how much do you lose during your week long detox?0 -

Hey there,
Juices don’t have to be super high in sugar or calories. The more fruit you put in them, the more likely they are to jump in sugar and calorie content. That being said, I don’t stress too terribly much over calories or sugar that comes from fruit or veggies (within reason). It has NEVER impacted my weight-loss, even when I’m not paying attention to calories or sugar AT ALL.
When I first did a juice detox, I think I probably lost about five pounds or a little more that week . And I didn’t put it back on when I transitioned back into solid foods. Still haven’t. I’ve continued losing since then. I don’t think detoxing as long as I do is for everyone, especially the first few times around. However, it worked/works for me.
I always listen to my body. If I’m hungry, I drink some fresh juice. I include herbal teas (sometimes including raw honey, lemon and/or organic apple cider vinegar) and lots of water in my diet. I don’t overdo exercise when I detox.
Each time has been different, but I will be detoxing for at least three days next week beginning on Monday. Feel free to message me or monitor my food diary and weigh-ins. I will most likely drink my “green lemonade” for breakfast and lunch, but I will likely change it up some at dinner. We’ll see! I listen to my body and my cravings while I’m detoxing.
