Well, its been 1yr since I started. I have lost 76lbs. Off my diabetic meds and half of my bp meds. I run 2.5 miles everyday. Lifting weights. Feel great. 1 yr ago today I was 270+(I wouldnt get on the scale). My blood sugar was 386. My bp was in the stroke range. Lets just say that I was in the er that day thinking I was going to die. I was so ashamed because im a RN. That whole time they kept telling one another "and shes a nurse". So ashamed I let my self go. After my husband left I decided I didnt want to live and procedded to eat myself to death. I have had 4 back surgeries, hypothyroid. So i had all the excuses not to exercise. That day I came home and loaded up MFP and started walking in the house. for 2 to 3 minutes. Thats all I could do. I threw awsy the chips, peanutbutter, and cookies. Those things have not been back and cut out the bad carbs. Just stopped. My goal is to run a 5k by next fall. I want to lose a total of 140lbs. Im 48 and I dont know when I felt this good. Somehow in my mind I thought if I looked like the girl my husband once loved he would come back. It didnt happen. After 9 yrs, im still alone. But im doing ok. Oh, and my HgA1c <5!
