Hi Everyone!
I am currently doing Insanity. I am on recovery week right now! I am running 3 days a week too. I can do 5k (3.10 miles) just under 34 minutes. I am looking for an app to help me train to run faster. I have an iPhone5. Any recommendations? I am currently using runkeeper to track my runs.
Thanks in advanced,
Jen

Endomondo and Runtastic both have motivation coaches and timers and both are free, though the coaches on Endo are like $2. I use Endo more than runtastic so I don't know for sure, but I seem to remember Endo having better coaching options (timed pace, speed, beat a friend, beat yourself, etc.)0 -
It's not a special training or anything, but do day or two a week of sprints in place of distance running. Do 10-15 minutes sprint/walk. When you return to a distance run, your speed should be increased a bit0

I love Runkeeper for tracking my runs. It's free for Droid and I would assume for iPhone as well. Now as far as improving speed, you need to do sprints to build cardio. I like Zombies, Run! You start off running and the story line plays in the background involving you as a "player". You'll be chased by zombies and have to sprint to outrun them. It's a lot of fun and you collect items as you run like you would in a video game. When done you can allocate them throughout the base to grow your base. It's a lot of fun and the sprinting will help you.0
