What am I doing wrong?

I am trying to lose 30 pounds, give or take. I have started tracking all of my food and am staying around 1400 calories a day (5'5'' female, 175 lbs). Before I started tracking, I was eating WAY more than that! I am eating much cleaner than before, as well. I have also cut back my alcohol consumption to 1-2 drinks a week, instead of 1-2 a night. However, I haven't lost any weight yet and it's been about 2 weeks! Am I doing something wrong or do I just need to give it more time? The only exercise I have been doing is walking. Should I increase my work outs? Thanks for any advice you have... I'm starting to get pretty frustrated!

Not sure how much you're exercising, but 4-5 days a week for a good hour. Make sure you're really getting that heart rate up there. Right track with eating clean and making sure you track any nibbles or caloric drinks that sneak in your day. Only then you'll know you're doing it all.

Patience...sometimes it takes a while, but it will happen. Keep logging your food as accurately as you can, and stay active. You can do this!

Take measurements is important to do when you start because when I don't see changes on the scale I see changes with the tape! But yes I would up your workout, I try to do as much as I can as far as working out goes. I am a member at the YMCA so I do about 1 to 1-1/2 hours of cardio and 30-45 minutes of strength training three to five times a week. But if you aren't a member to any gym try to doing workout video that's what I did my first month and I am only a little over 2 months into it. But I have already lost 25 pounds but I have a lot more to lose compared to you. Also how do you measure out your food? The best way is a food scale and measuring cups. But a lot of people don't know this measuring cups/spoons are only for liquids not solids so invest in a food scale if you can.

Also I just want to say this if you are walking and eating better you are doing something right even if you aren't seeing a change on the scale. One over thing is try to not check-in everyday it will just get you down. Like I walked for a hour and gained 2 pounds what? Your body does weird things sometimes.

Best of luck to you! Feel free to add me if you would like my food and exercise diaries are both open :)
