digestion issues

My dad mentioned something he'd heard yesterday about too much water in a day, consistently, being linked to consipation, gas, bloating, all that. I drink a TON of water (look at my diary, you can see I do) and I have felt worse in the past two weeks than I have in months. I'm getting so sick of it, too, and it's affecting my energy levels throughout the day. I have never been a particularly regulated person, digestive-wise, but I have never been this bad. Any ideas? I tried to find the article he was talking about and couldn't. There is a lot out there saying the exact opposite, which I already knew.

This is just a guess, it's the sweetner in your foods and not the water.
Even one low-fat anything (cause they always seem to have sucralose or aspartane) causes me to bloat and feel gross. I switched to regular greek yogurt and no low sugar anything and it made me feel better. If I am worried about eating too much fat or sugar then I will eat less food, not chose foods with "low in something". Check your protein powders/bars to see if there's sucralose/aspartane in them.0 -

Thank you! My fiance suggested the same thing last night, and I just wanted to see if he wasn't alone. I will try to keep the sweeteners to a minimum.0 -
I try to keep my calories low so I can understand the draw of low-fat foods but when you compare the labels there isn't as big a difference as you'd think, sometimes just 10 cal.... I now eat plain greek yogurt, it's 60 cal and 10g of protein and you get used to the taste super fast. It was difficult to find a protein powder with no sucralose but I did find one, at Wal-Mart. It does have more calories than the ones with sucralose however I only use the powder when I am low on protein and I mix it with water instead of milk and fruit or whatever. Good luck!0
