Losing my endurance!??(car accident)

About 5 days ago I was hit by a car 3-4 steps into my run. I smashed my head on the mirror and rolled over the hood. I snapped my collarbone clear off my shoulder and I have a hairline fracture in one of my upper vertebrae. (I also have a gash in the back of my head with 10 staples in it)
Now I am a runner. I did track, and I could run 4-5 miles without stopping. (at like 5.5mph speed)
so I'm wondering cause I'll probably be outta commission for 6-8 weeks if I'm going to lose all endurance.
I can still walk and ride stationary bike but that's not the same!
So will I?
or what can I do to still keep some?

If you do nothing you will lose alot, but not all of it.
If you do cross training on the bike you will lose some in the legs, but not a whole lot.
