On the topic of hair cuts and styles....

Do you generally think women look better with long, medium or short hair?

As an aside- I've been thinking about hair styles and lengths because I am thinking of getting my long hair cut to an angled bob (think Jamie Eason). I've had long hair for a while, but think it's time for a change. I generally think long hair on young women works, but as we get older (30s-40s and up) it's time for a shorter 'do.

I think it depends entirely on the individual woman. Face shape, weight, coloring, etc. can all determine what will look good. Not just age.

My hair will always be long. If it doesn't reach my waist, it's too short.

I love my long hair. I'm 30 and haven't had hair this long in about 15 years...I have no intention of giving it up.

Nice can I pull it? Ya know cause I'm like 4. Joke!
    Long hair is my preference.
I think a CONFIDENT woman looks good with any length of hair!

Age-appropriate hair lengths proves to determine potential cultural impasse.

Short hair: Strictly follows a mourning period, when a woman loses her husband and when a girl is volunteered as the sacrifice in place of the more likely mourners for a set duration.

Medium length: Strictly for schooling days up until the early young professional years (minimum of a classic bob at its shortest). To wear it any shorter was considered radical. *Also the recovery hair length post the traditional mourning period.

Long (along the shoulder blade) to very long (along the hips): Young or mature ~ it's flexible, with variating styles of buns.

Have had long and short hair. I prefer it long but every now and then, I chopped it off. I always regret it after.

My husband could care less what I do with it too. Says my hair doesn't determine if he's going to bend me over the couch, table, etc.

    Love long hair.

But honestly, it really doesn't matter to me. Each girl looks different so hair is kinda one of those secondary things.

Some women look great with short hair...I am not one of them !!
  • I have sported the inverted bob for many years. Its my signature style! With that being said, be ready and willing to get trims every 4 weeks, style it everyday, and have a terrible time growing it out when you choose to. I am currently in the awkward growing out phase. Total pain :ohwell:

I think it depends on the person. Some people can pull off and look amazing in an angled bob or even a cute pixie cut.... me, not so much. Personally, I will always sport long hair.

I had my head shaved as a teen and during my early 20s. I grew it long, then donated it to Locks of Love this year. I plan on growing it out again and donating every time it gets long enough, to a different charity each time.

My personal preference is either really, really long or shaved. I don't like any of the lengths in between.

Of course, for a woman to pull off a shaved head, you have to have just the right bone structure, and it helps to not be fat.

I had long hair for a good part of my life, but I just got tired of dealing with it.. I was hot all the time so I kept it up in a bun almost 24/7. So I chopped it off a few years ago. Now I have a pixi cut and love it. Though the only annoying thing about really short hair is you have to get it cut every other week or so to keep it maintained. I need to get mine trimmed up again already. D:

My hair is just past my shoulders, I cannot wait to get it cut off. I prefer short hair in the summer and longer in the winter. I have thick thick hair so its just much better short.

I had it long for a couple of years, longer than I've ever had. I combed my dreads out and gained around 8 inches, thus avoiding the awkward in between phase  . But, it started to drive me crazy (too much fussing and it kept getting in my face), so I chopped it off. I'm much happier with it now.

I've had long hair most of my life. I went through a couple of different periods where I had it short (above my shoulders), and one day I came home from having it done, and my husband said, "You look better with long hair."

I checked a bunch of photos, and he was right. I get it trimmed several times a year to keep it looking healthy. It's better for when I braid my hair for powwows.

I have always had long hair. It's way past my waist now, and cut in layers, shortest layers are about shoulder length. I think bob haircuts look really cute, and once in a while I almost convince myself to go get one but i always change my mind.
When i do cut it, it will probably be for charity.

How approriate for this post to show up today becauseI have a hair appointment next week. I am real nervous about it because I'm not sure what I want. My husband saw a picture of a gal in shorter hair and says that is what he would like me to do. I am scared to do that because maybe they will cut it shorter than what the picture shows. His second choice is shoulder length.

I will soon be 67 years old, although, I look younger. I have wondered, if long hair does not look good on a woman of my age. Right now, my hair touches my shoulder blades and I don't really wear it down much at all. Everyone says I look better with it up. So this has made me wonder if maybe I should go to short hair.

I would love to get some feed-back too! Thanks.

I actually just had mine cut today into an inverted bob. I had it cut that way last April then I let it grow out. I definitely like my hair better as an inverted bob over longer hair.

I had an inverted bob for years and liked it, but I LOVE my short hair now. It's easy, no fuss, and pretty versatile considering the length.

I hate when women keep their hair long foreverrr! Some peoples hair wasn't meant to stay long forever. My mothers hair has thinned out a good bit (not in a balding way) then she flattens it out to wear it almost looks greasy because its so thin and straight. She thinks it makes her look younger, but if she cut it to her shoulders it would take off a good 7 years!

On that note... my hair is long now... but on a whim, it could be short.
