Winning = Weight Loss

So I'm kind of new to this site (well not really, made my account back in 2010 but gave up like many and forgot it existed, whoops). But I have started to use it again because of the convenience of easy calorie counting. In the past 3 months I have lost around 40 pounds juicing with no real change in my active lifestyle. Since I live in Queens, and attend college as a pre-med bio-chem student at Hunter College in NYC, walking is a big part of my life and has contributed to my micro-success. I say micro because I have so much to go.
Ok before I keep rambling, I have learned that weight loss, while not easy, isn't the hardest thing in the world to achieve if you don't look at it as an achievement. I say don't even give yourself a real goal, just do. And by "do" I mean make small changes throughout everyday activities with some sort of control of your daily intake everyday. I promise you that you will lose weight without even really trying. Just small steps for big change. You don't need a expensive gym membership to change your body. Your body is the only thing in this world you really own, don't let the gym own it. In fact, you could use nothing but your body to change your body... which brings me to my next point.
Sports are your friend. They are fun, intensive, and great cardio. But also completely free ;-). I myself enjoy one wall handball and occasional basketball and football. All you need to play is local park. I've always played, but never really had the drive to play hard. So what small changes did I make in my game on the courts? I play harder, run faster, stay longer, and drive deeper everyday because I know that that sweat, that exhaustion, and those inflamed chub rub rashes make me who I want to be everyday; A WINNER. I don't look at it from the perspective of what it will ONE DAY make me, but at it as what it makes me today. That satisfaction of winning keeps me going, not weight loss. I feel like I owe it to heavy people to show everyone that we are active, and if we really want the win we will capture the win.
Some people tell me that they don't really play sports, so what would they be "winning". Win in the gym. Be the best in your weight class and one weight class below you. When you make it to that weight class, well then be better than the one lower than that.
So if you're having trouble sticking to a "weight loss" plan, stick to a WINNER'S plan. Win everyday in everything. Become absolutely infatuated with winning. Everyone has the drive to win, it's human nature
