Iron

Hi all,
I'm trying to up my iron levels as they have a tendency to get pretty low. I'm taking a liquid iron supplement for now but would like to sort it out through diet as much as I can. I can handle liver and spinach once in a while but I'd like some other high iron meal options too.
I make a lot of curries so anything I can throw into those which would up it a bit would be great. I'm not vegetarian but I don't eat much red meat.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions

Also, if you are a big tea drinker, don't drink it around mealtimes.

I was on prescription Iron tablets, I then upped my green leafy veggies and I also eat liver once a week, don't need the iron pills any longer.0

Hemp has a lot of iron.
One serving of hemp hearts (3 tbsp) have 20% of the rda of iron.
One serving of the hemp protein powder I use has 40% of the rda.
The hemp hearts are great in cereal or on salads. The protein powder is great for smoothies. I hope that helps!0 -

The best source of iron is probably liver. I would recommend bison liver not beef or pork.
Pumpkin seeds are high in iron and are very tasty.0
