I need advice

Hi everyone. I am a 30+ mother of 2 energetic little ones. I am about 100 pounds overweight and feel completely overwhelmed everytime I try to lose weight. I have had type 2 diabetes now for 10 years(not in such good control right now) and I have an underactive thyroid(under control) I feel horrible these days, tired, aching feet and total lack of energy. You would think all of this, and of course what i see in the mirror each day, would motivate me to lose weight. But no, I try something for awhile and get no results and then give up. I don't have much time to myself and my hubby works horrible hours, so I have the kids most of the time. I was wondering if anyone out there is or was in my situation. I would love some advice on how to balance it all and what worked for you. I am desperate!

One day at a time, one step at a time, one decision at a time. And LOTS of support and accountability. Remember that all the small steps added together WILL lead to weight loss. Appreciate each step in the right direction. It sounds like you are beating yourself up a lot about it.
Where are you at now? Are you walking daily? Tracking foods?
Feel free to add me, and/or message me. I'm always happy to pay it forward with support!0 -
Start with putting good fuel into your body. I'm not suggesting dumping all your favorite foods but try to fit in more fruits and veggies, whole grains, and all important protein. Putting better food into your body increases your energy output. And don't try to change everything at once. That's a recipe for failure. Take it a little at a time. Try starting with once a week taking the kids to the park for 20-30 minutes and playing with them, pushing them on the swings, etc. It's a great way to start getting you moving. That will also conveniently boost your vitamin D levels and being out in the sun for a bit will also help energize you.0

You are off to a great start. Small steps...change one thing at a time. Substitute one food item, item a day with a healthy food; take a smaller portion of that food you want vs the regular size portion you usually have. BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF AND LOG IN YOUR FOOD INTAKE religiously for a while to see where you can change those little things.
Once you master the one thing, move to another thing, then add something new like walking around the block; skipping with your kids around the house, or even marching with high knees while house cleaning or walking around the house.
At some point take a baseline weigh-in and see how those little things are affecting your weight; keep a diary with the feelings you have, etc. Anything small that can be mastered without sudden shock or deprivation.
You can do it....we have all been there on one level or another. GOOD LUCK.0
