Hi, I have friends who have all recommended this website. did all my foods for yesterday but I'm a bit confused by my sodium allowance. Is sodium not salt? Why is it telling me my daily allowance is 2,500 but I only used 8??? What is 2,500? mg? Thanks x

2500 mgs of salt is about 2/3 of a teaspoon.
It's the recommended daily upper limit.
If your diary was open someone could help you figure out what happened.
Perhaps the friends who told you about MFP. : )0 -
Remember salt is in everything you eat - almost. It's not just balking about adding salt.0

Not every item in the database has all the nutrition filled in. So it's very likely that you ate things that had salt/ sodium in them but which isn't showing up correctly.0
