I saw my primary care Doc yesterday and my A1C (blood sugar) was down to 5.4!

I was on Byetta injections - it's not insulin, but it helps your body use its own insulin more efficiently. 6 months ago we dropped the dosage in half and then 3 months ago we dropped it completely. And now it's staying stable and I don't need to see her for another 6 months! WOOHOO!

Next project: blood pressure meds.
I was hoping to be able to at least drop the dosage, but I can't. Not right now. I've had some medical tests that brought up some PTSD issues so I'm guessing that's what was keeping my BP up. But there's good news there too - a few years ago I probably would've refused the tests, or they would've thrown me into a depression full of PTSD symptoms. But now I'm doing fine - a lot better than I thought I would be.

Progress - gotta love it!

That is awesome! Congratulations- I don't know you but I'm really happy for you. I'm always thrilled for people that can reduce their medications and manage their health through diet and exercise- makes me think maybe I can too. Way to go!

What awesome news about your A1C! You have much to be proud of. As for the BP meds. I'm a lifer according to my doctor because of genetics. But hopefully eventually you can get off them!

Congrats!!! That is truly awesome, and a much better NSV than a new jeans size (although that's always great too....)

Congrats! That is amazing and will inspire many and let them know that there is hope, IF they work at it like you have. :)

Fantastic! Great work. My A1C was 6.1 at last check, but only on oral meds. Hoping to get off them. Still on BP meds. Working with a naturopathic doc to hopefully get off some of my other meds. Keep up the great work.
