Question about lifting and menstrual cycles

So, I decided to start exercising in an attempt to regulate my menstrual cycles because they used to be regular when I went to karate 3xweek and played sports but became irregular when I became lazy. I started lifting as of this week and I do a bit of cardio to help out my asthma. Female lifters, have any of you experienced irregular cycles as a result of heavy lifting or is that mainly something that's associated with extreme cardio and/or too low BF?
I know some people want fewer cycles when they exercise, but I want my cycles to shorten up and be regular because I'm trying to have a baby.

My cycle really hasn't changed at all.
That said, before our son when we were TTC and I had TONS of DRs tell me I wouldn't be able to have children (I don't ovulate properly, if ever) I was at my heaviest.
I decided to get skinny and hot and because we had never used any type of birth control for years, we still didn't.
Once I hit goal and maintained for about 6 months, BAM I got preggers.
I didn't even realize it. We were at the gym one morning and my sister said, hey you look like you have put on a pound maybe two. Well sure enough, she was right.
I was tiny, a size 4 at around 130lbs (I was carrying ALOT of muscle)
So, keep losing weight, most certainly lifting. That's what I was doing.
Have you ever seen a 9 month woman squat? I did.....it was quite a site.
Anyways, I had him, he had medical issues, the weight piled on and here I am losing it again.0 -

That's great to hear! And it looks like your weight loss is going well again this time around. I hope that your son is doing a lot better now. I had medical issues at birth too. So, is lifting alright during pregnancy or is that only if you'd been lifting for awhile before you got preggers?0
