Hi,
I looked for a recipe and searched the internet to see if it was possible to use Brownie mix and substitue the egg AND oil with applesauce. I couldn't find any recipe anywhere so I just tried it myself.
I used Pillsbury Chocolate fudge Brownie mix and mixed 1.5 cup of sweetened Mott's Applesauce and 1/4 cup of water. I also added 1 scoop of protein powder. They are good!
They are sticky and chewy, but good. It works out to be 20 servings, 130 calories, 1g protein, instead of 190-200 cals w/ no protein content.
Next time, I would recommend putting more scoops of protein powder to get the benefit and try making the brownie mix from scratch because the brownie mix itself is not healthy. It has hydrogenated oils. That's the bad stuff.

Hmmm
Reminds Me of the chocolate applesauce cake.
I've lost my original recipie ( its from the nursing mothers association of australia cookbook, and has some cinnamon in it)
But this one is fairly close...

You can also take a large box of brownie mix (family size) and one can of black beans. Rinse the black beans and refill the can (still with the beans in it) with water. Puree the beans and add to the dry brownie mix and bake.
I've made these at least a dozen times and not one can ever guess they are made with black beans instead of the eggs and oil.0 -
That actually sounds pretty good.0

Wow! I have to try this!!! :O)0

You can also make swap flour for black beans. I made some last week and they were delicious! Chia seed and water also make a good egg substitute.0
