Keeping the Weight off when Traveling

I'm traveling to the US in September (very excited!) however I'm already dreading putting on weight (everything looks so delicious there!).
Does anyone have any tips or advice on how to keep the weight off while traveling? I'm most likely going to be eating out the entire time, won't have access to scales so I can weigh myself (to keep myself in check), or have time to exercise (though I'm hoping I'll be walking lots).
I'll take my fitbit with me, so I can keep track how much I'm walking, but I'm more worried about food not being in the MFP database.

I don't know what part of the US you'll be going to but my advice: do not worry about eating healthy constantly. You're on vacation, enjoy yourself, live a little, eat whatever you want. You're in the US for crying out loud, you don't go there all the time I assume? Focus on healthy eating when you get back. I go to Chicago and LA in the summer and I do not care about what I eat when I'm there (which is every year). I'm on vacation, why worry about anything? ill eat so much junk till it comes out of my pores, but at the same time ill be walking a lot so ill get some exercise in. Ill go hiking in LA for example. Enjoy it0

Walk lots! That should offset most of the eating. A lot of food should be in the database, at least a general version, though you may have to guess a little. Try splitting the really decadent stuff with someone else or saving some of it for later. Portions here in the US are insane so PLEASE do not feel the need to eat everything on your plate. Ask for a to-go box and enjoy it again later!0

If it makes you feel better...most U.S. hotels (even less expensive ones) have a 24 hr. fitness room available for guests. They usually have a treadmill, a couple of other pieces of fitness equipment, a scale, and a TV. Hopefully, you won't choose to eat at the big chain restaurants just because their food is in the database. You'll enjoy much better food and experience the real culture of any city at small, locally-owned eateries. Happy travels:)0

Thanks for the tips.
squatsandlipg: it's my first time, and very likely my only (really like flight because we're stopping in New Zealand first each way).
laurynwithawh: Splitting the food is a really good idea! Or maybe entrees? I assume they would be smaller, but I'd have much less options.
jennifersmile: I'll have to keep that in mind. Part of my trip there is with Contiki and my friend said it can be exhausting so I'm not sure how much time I'll have.
I'm still really excited to go. Right now I'm telling myself 2 healthy meals the something a little naughtier at night for dinner. Lucky for me I don't like the taste of alcohol so I'll save some calories there.0
