46, Male, office worker. 154ish pounds. 5'9"
I'm out to lose the love handles. 36 inch waist that I'd like to be 31 or 32.
I've never been a big eater, but in the past I've lived off full fat pepsi and chocolate, rather than eating proper food. Until I started this diet I'd never touched broccoli or red peppers.
I think the only reason I've never become overweight is that I walk a lot on my lunch break. A brisk 2 to 3 miles each work day. I've added 30 minutes a day on the elliptical to this now.
I made an arbitrary decision to cut out rice, pasta, bread and potatoes. I will probably add back potatoes and whole grain bread when I'm happy with my waistline.
I decided on low-carb simply because it felt right. I think that might change too when I'm happy with my waist.
My goal is in two parts. 1) slim down the waist. 2) bulk up slightly to around 175lbs and keep it there.
so.. hello!!
cheers!
Tony.

Are you sure you are only 154lbs and 5ft 9in?? The reason I ask is I am only 5ft 8in and I weigh more than that and have a 32 waist and around 15% bodyfat. So if you are only 154lbs then I would be amazed if you are overweight at 5ft 9in.
Welcome anyway and best of luck in achieving your goals!0 -
Thanks!
I'm 32 inch trousers, but the biggest part of my belly is 36 inches s, yes. My BF is currently around 18. I'm not overweight, my BMI has always been around 21, but I want to lose the love handles.0 -

Welcome to MFP.
Choose something that you're going to do long term and stick with it.
I'd suggest a reasonable calorie deficit coupled with a moderate amount of exercise.0 -
