Every month, I gain 2 to 5 pounds around my TOM. Then I have to work my butt off to get back on track. My diet and exercise is usually the same (even though I feel like I'm starving that entire week). What do you do to lose or at least maintain your weight when Aunt Flo comes to town?

I don't change anything. In fact I might be slightly lazier due to fatigue and cramps. Here's what I've noticed, my weight goes up around my TOM and then a few days after its done drops back down to normal. Heck sometimes I've even lost a few pounds. Like this month for example:
Friday Before TOM: 214lbs
Monday Before TOM: 213lbs
Day TOM started: 216lbs
Friday Last day of TOM: 210.6lbs
Sunday after TOM: 209lbs0 -
I don't have this problem because I stopped giving into my sweet cravings a long time ago. When I get sweet cravings now no matter when it is, I eat a few squares of dark chocolate or a piece of fruit and that satisfies me.
I don't notice a weight change for me at all during my TOM. But I feel more bloated, but that's all the other stuff going on rather than weight/food.0 -
oh how I do not miss that tom.....but as I recall much of the weight gain is water retainion. The more water you drink on a regular bases (gulpemdown) the recommended 8 glasses, the less water your body needs to hold on to. So consider your daily consumption and avoid all those cravings that go with periods...mine was salty no wait it was chocolate....chocolate covered salty things!!!! lol But seriously it might also be a good idea to schedule any meetings with the scale accordingly. Weight control is stressfull enough with aunt Flow standing on the scale behind you.0

It's totally normal and there's not really anything we can do about it. I was up three pounds the first day this month. No big deal, and I don't need to change my routine at all because the number will go right back down in about a week.
Just expect it and know that it's coming and don't sweat it - it's normal and temporary.0 -

I'm the same; a couple of kilos up peaking on the day that it starts, then down to a kilo or so from where I was before. I have MASSIVE chocolate cravings around mine, I just try and make sure that I'm under calories as much as possible and force myself to work out the same as I would at any other time (no matter how crappy I feel - I find this easier to do than resisting the chocolate cravings)
I'm just waiting for mine to finish now...0
