Exercise Logs

I'm curious what your personal preferences are when logging exercise.
I only count exercise that I feel is exercise.... for instance, I don't log my (slow) 2 mile walk in the morning with my pups.
Yesterday, I went shopping at the mall and walked probably 2 more miles- but didn't log. For me, exercise is purposeful and getting my body in a fit condition... what about you??

I track time exercising, intensity, pounds lifted (along with reps and sets), daily weight and body fat.
Every number is added up and averaged each week and month.
I usually only log things that are unusual. When I used to walk 20 minute to work each day, I didn't log it. Now that I drive to work, if I went for a twenty minute hike, I'd log it.0 -
I'm with you-- I don't log things like grocery shopping, or the 5 minutes it can take me to walk from my parking spot to my office, or the 3 - 4 trips up and down the stairwell that is part of my normal routine.0

I log all physical activity above normal walking around, because my base is predicated on that. I will log any activity that goes on for an hour or more excpet running which always gets logged. For example a 2 hour bike ride, or an hour walk or splitting wood for a while all get logged, whereas my 20 minute walk with the dogs every night does not.0

I don't report everyday stuff but if I do extra, even if it's only a moderately paced walk, I will log that - just so I can see how much I am doing. I don't eat back exercise cals, unless I'm feeling greedy, as I'm doing TDEE -20%.0

i work out around 5 hours/week, so i don't generally track anything that's not actual exercise. however, a couple times when i was having an exercise day off but feeling sorry for msyelf and wanting to look like i ate less calories, i have logged things like short walks.... unfortunatlely, that's doing me NO good, as i've lost all of 3lbs in over a month, lol.
that's awesome that some of you don't eat your exercise points. i'm pretty sure that's my problem!
but, in generaly, i don't log that stuff.

I only track exercise that increases my heart rate, I do bursts of exercises at work to get myself out of a work induced brain fog (25 squats, 25 incline pushups, 25 lunges) but I don't log those...sometimes they do increase my heart rate but I don't think enough to really qualify as a good calorie burn...
Everyone is different, if it works for you do it.0 -
If it was something I did already did while I was getting fatter and fatter I dont log - shopping, cleaning the house, walking around the office, short walks less than 15 minutes etc.....
If I purposely walk to get my heart rate up - and it is more than 20 - 30 minutes I do log.......so if I am on holiday, and on my feet the entire day, I will log some of that time as it still means I am more active than in my normal daily life on which my activity profile is set....I will most probably not log all the hours, but some of it...
So yes - any activity / exercise which is over and above the "normal" things we all do in life I will log - if I gets my HR up and a glow on :-)0 -
I don't log things like walking more because I parked further out, or running around my office to do errands instead of using email or messenger. If I am focusing on actual exercise, it gets logged. Everything else is just being healthier in my day-to-day life and I would probably end up doing it anyway.0

I don't log my exercise. I eat 1800 calories whether I work out or not. If I do something "out of the norm" (e.g.. a run over 10 miles) I'll eat over 1800 if I get hungry later. It works for me... I hate that MFP gives me free calories if I log. GIR. BUT, I do understand why people would use that0
