Juicing

Thinking about juicing. Never done it before so any suggestions would be appreciated. And recipes :) Thanks!

    I am doing my 3-5 day monthly juice detox this week. How long I do it depends on how I'm feeling and how I’m responding to the cleanse. I actually am considering going past five days this time, but we will see!

    This morning I juiced the following:

    -one head of celery
    -five leaves of kale
    -one apple
    -one lemon
    -one tablespoon of fresh ginger
    -a little over a cup of fresh pineapple

    This made two 16-ounce cups of juice. I sealed them tightly and will drink one for breakfast and one for lunch. Between my meals I will drink water and herbal tea. I do incorporate lemon juice, raw honey (by the teaspoon, not tablespoon) and organic/unfiltered apple cider vinegar into my daily routine while juicing. This keeps my energy up, and I believe it also assists the cleansing process.

    For dinner tonight, I want to make a spicy cilantro juice (it’s great at dinner or lunch) but I have some pears that are going to be bad if I keep them too much longer, so I’ll probably make this instead:

    Pear Orange Juice:

    -two pears
    -one orange
    -four cups of spinach
    -one cup of basil
    -one small piece of ginger

    Before breakfast

    1 medium cucumber
    2 stalks of celery
    1 cup of spinach (depending on your juicer you will want to roll them up in a lettuce leaf)
    1 carrot - (optional)

    (juice as listed)

    Anytime - Sunshine Juice

    1 Medium-large apple (quartered) - I use honey crisp or fuji
    2 medium carrots
    1/2 Red bell pepper
    1/2 Orange bell pepper
    1/2 lemon (peeled)
    1 cup of greens (dandelion, spinach, kale, arugula, beet greens) - rolled up
