Doctor ordered no gym...help

Due to a hip injury and a pinched nerve, my chiropractor has ordered me to stay out of the gym and off exercise equipment for a few weeks. It's been 11 days and I've managed to go to the park once for a walk around the trail with the dog. It felt so good. I'm afraid that the break from the gym is going to cause me to lose my passion for exercising. I can honestly say I don't like working out, but I see the difference it makes on the scale and that keeps me motivated. What can I do to stay active while I'm away from the gym for another week?

  • I dont belong to any gym and I almost never get the chance to go outside for a walk due to crazy work schedule and kids. For the last month I have been using the walk at home videos that I located on you tube.

If your doctor is ok with you walking maybe you wanna try these.

What's more important? Short term exercise or sorting your Injury and beng able to stay fit & healthy in the long term?

If you are ok walking then walk every day, but follow your doctors orders! He told you no gym for a reason!

How about swimming? When I had tendonitis in my foot I was told "no exercise" except swimming. I know it's hard especially if you are used to it but better to find alternatives and get better than to go against DR orders and make your recovery longer or worse yet - cause permanent damage and not be able to go back at all.
