Hi Everyone,
This is my first post so I'm sure I have a lot to learn about the boards here. I'm hoping to lose about 15 pounds, but in truth I don't have much idea of what my goal weight should be. For most of my life I was very skinny, just thought I was lucky. I always ate what I wanted, which was a ton of sugar. When I lived in a big city, before having kids, I was running up and down stairs, walking all over town and going to the gym. So I was a size 2 or 4. That went up after my first was born, but I figured it's ok since I'm tall. I was a size six and happy with that.
But then this fall I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. Turns out I was skinny because my intestines were so damaged I couldn't dissolve fat. I threw on another ten pounds pretty quickly. I haven't wanted to diet for weight loss because I've been focusing on healing. But now I'm on top of the gluten free thing and feeling so much better, I'd really like to attack these last few pounds.
Would love any tips on dropping weight on a gluten free diet. It's a mixed blessing that it's so popular these days because there are so many good recipes and products, but it seems like everyone I know thinks just cutting gluten can make you lose weight, for us with the disease, it's the opposite.
