1st Month Success

After losing 7 stone in 12 months using a similar site back in 2006/7 , over the past year I gained 1 1/2 stone back due to a stressful period in my life.
Well, knowing 100% that food logging and increasing exercise does give weight loss results, I trawled the internet again and found this place, and as this site is free decided to join here.
In my first month of joining here I have lost 6.6 lbs of that 21 lbs I want to shift so am pleased and already feel highly motivated by reading and seeing some of the success stories on here.
To anyone just starting off who may be visiting here for the first time, if you are very much overweight as I was, and for most of my adult life, do not give up hope, you can do this if you want it bad enough.
Before you even start, trawl through the success stories on here, you will find some people who had higher mountains to climb than you have, it is so motivational looking at other peoples success stories, and it gives you instant belief in the science that less calories in than you expend during the day = weight loss, that holy grail that some of us have been looking for , for years.
And if the thought of having to join a gym or go out running puts you off, don't let it. In my first month here all I have done to increase my exercise is walk for 30 - 60 minutes three or four times per week. I already feel like I have gained a lot of my fitness back, and this month will get my bike back out. I may join the gym next month to start some weight training again.
You can also do simple things, I have started parking in the furthest space away from my office, it adds an extra couple of minutes walking per day, sometimes five if I go to my car two or three times during the day. I use the furthest WC away in our office block, it means using the stairs a few times a day - its all extra exercise, and over the course of a week it adds up.
Just be honest with your food logging, you don't have to deprive yourself, in my first month of weight loss here I have eaten all my favourite foods, just less of it - depriving yourself is a route to failure.
You will soon start to get self motivated after your first few weeks of your own success.
I will report back next month, I am down to lose 1 lb per week, and I will do it, I will keep reading the success stories here, in magazines and elsewhere on the internet, and I will continue to be honest with my logging and keep doing some excercise, that way I know I will coninue to get towards that 21 lb weight loss.
When I first joined this site, I posted a link to my original success story in the hope that it would help motivate, so here is that link again if you are new since then:-

Good luck if you have just started out, and well done to all of you that have helped keep me motivated over the past month, and will continue to do so over the coming months.
This is a fantastic place, and you will find it to be the Holyy Grail for your weight loss if you are serious about it.
Regards
Paul
