I would like to know...on MFP when you ate 2 fruits.. you already over your sugar...
are we supposed to calculate ALL sugar...or only the processed white sugar?
Because it makes no sense to me... that if I eat fruits and veggies I am over in the sugar...
Help anyone ?

I think you can reset your sugar, but they have it VERY low. Too low.0

The sugar micro on MFP is based on the CDC's recommendation for added/refined sugars. Eat your fruit and veg...I hardly think there is an obesity problem because of people over consuming their fruits and veg.
I personally try to limit my refined/added sugar and get most of my sugars from fruits and veg. I avoid high fructose corn syrup.0 -
Obviously fruits and vegetables are very, very good for your body, and so I wouldn't let MFP guidelines dictate things in regard to that (unless you're eating fruit in heavy syrup in which case ... well, cut the syrup).
If you're going to be worried about cutting sugar, cut the candy and soda and such before you cut fruits and vegs.
Use common sense, yo. Don't let the numbers make you too crazy.0 -

This. Last month I was under my sugar only 4 days. Most days, I doubled or tripled the limit. Having said that, I very rarely eat foods with added sugars and rarely add any sugar to anything I make myself. Almost all my sugar comes from fruits or veggies.0 -
thank you all, that is what I was thinking!
so mostly the sugar MFP provides for unatural sugars0 -
I am new to this site and to really evaluating my caloric intake and content, and I was really shocked too about the sugar "limit." A friend who is helping me and some others improve our eating and lose weight suggested looking into glycemic index/glycemic load of foods, which helps regulate how quickly you utilize the energy in the food and how it affects the insulin/glucose levels in your blood. Basically I think what is important is getting lots of low GI/GL foods and minimizing the added sugar. If you are eating good healthy fruits and veggies then for the most part you don't have to worry about the amount of sugar in the food if you pay attention to the above info.0

I go over my sugar everyday by at least 20. About 90-95% of this sugar is Fruits and Veg.0 -
Unless you are diabetic or have a medical condition, sugar has no impact on your weight loss. And it doesn't even matter if it's real or fake sugar. Many of us eat ice cream, candy, chocolate, etc... and consistently lose weight. It's all about calories. Now there are other health benefits of eating fruit over candy, but not in terms of weight loss.0

I meant to mention this when I posted but forgot. I only limit my added sugars to save room for more nutritious foods in my calorie goal, not because I think there is anything inherently wrong with sugar.0
