Am I doing this right?

I am tracking my cats meals on MFP. He has a *slight* weight problem.

The issue I'm having is that I put his entire meal into the site, but then he vomits part of it back up on the rug. He has a hairball problem (and yes, we are trying to treat that too). Do I subtract those calories? Should I feed him more to make up for it?

Thanks for your help and support!!!

You need to weigh the vomit and work out how many calories it would be - then you can subtract it from his daily total.

Are you at all worried he might have bulima?

Yeah, as nasty as it sounds, you'll have to weigh that stuff. *ew*

Make him eat a little more. If you get tuna packed in oil, instead of water, you can sneak in more calories!!

But isn't it good that after the vomit he has a bigger calorie deficit? Doesn't that mean he will lose weight faster?

I switched my cat to Iams Digestive Health food and she stopped vomiting and has even lost weight. She highly recommends.

Dont forget to account for any hairballs in the vomit. If you subtract those also you will put your cat into starvation mode immediately and he will just gain more weight!

Just leave it where you find it. He'll go back and take care of it.
