What's Up With Sugar!?

So, I eat apples after I work out and we always have natural fruit juice and fresh fruit in the house. I am always going over the amount of sugar that is given to me... but (most of the time) I don't feel like I am eating that horribly. Even before I was drinking soda again... Should I not be as concerned with that number is if it is healthy sugars that I am consuming?

I wouldn't worry too much. I always go over my sugar as the daily amt MFP allows us is ridiculous and really hard to achieve. There is sugar in everything. I know people on here do stay under, but for myself personally I don't worry about it that much. I'm not eating candy or cookies or anything daily, it's just in everything.0

Personally, I don't worry about sugars from fruit.
Sugar from candy or cakes or soda, I do. I also view any fruit chips as candy.0 -

Sugar is sugar. If you are regulating your sugar intake for medical purposes, it all counts. Other than that...
"The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends limiting the amount of added sugars you consume to no more than half of your daily discretionary calories allowance. For most American women, that’s no more than 100 calories per day, or about 6 teaspoons of sugar. For men, it’s 150 calories per day, or about 9 teaspoons. The AHA recommendations focus on all added sugars, without singling out any particular types such as high-fructose corn syrup."

Whole fruit is an excellent source of vitamins and minerals - I eat it often. I try to avoid juice - it may have more nutrients but it will spike your blood sugar the same way soda does.0

pshh apples are natural sugar. i eat at least 3 apples a day. just dont eat alot of candy, cookies, and cake and youre good0

No one ever got fat by eating too much fruit and vegetables.
Focus on getting your ADDED sugar down, and meeting your other macros, and I bet you'll find the fruit isn't going to kill your weight loss.0
