My trainer says it is best not to eat all of them back - from the horses mouth! She is very good.

Up to 100 of them, no more.

Mainly because I don't believe I'm burning as much as MFP/machines/google etc says I am.

This is because your trainer is working on the assumption that you are creating or attempting to create a calorie deficit with your workout...not your diet.

Have you ever wondered why MFP ups your calorie goal when you log exercise? Perhaps...just maybe...because it's a GOAL. A goal is something to be achieved. There's already a huge calorie deficit in your diet for weight loss. Perhaps tell your trainer what your net calories are per day and see what she has to say about netting 700 calories per day or whatever...I'm sure she won't be pleased.

All the numbers that you're working with for calories eaten and calories burned are estimates. It's a good idea to keep good records (fill out your logs) and personalize your goals. Maybe you can eat all your exercise calories back, maybe you can't.

Also, why is it that the daily dose of "do I eat my exercise calories back" posts come from the female gender?

That's the way MFP works, so the answer is yes I do, and yes you should.
