I never did introduce myself

Well good evening everyone.
I've been on here for nearly 2 months, Have surfed on a lot of your advice and even given some of my own, but never once bothered to officially introduce myself.
I don't know the formalities around these parts, but I figure I'll give a bit of background and how I ended up here.
In 2001, I graduate high school. I had a BMI of 24.4 (185 pounds) and was in pretty good shape. I was active, and all around pretty fit. Over the few years that followed, I fell in love and let myself go. When we ended it, I had no drive to better my physical shape... I just kept letting it go as I focused on getting back to school, getting a degree, and landing a real career. Started University in 2007, and by 2009 was up to ~215 pounds, where I stayed until finishing school last year. My one promise to myself was that I would never cross 230 pounds.
Fast forward to early February. I stepped on a scale in a shopping mall because I decided for some reason I should buy one. To my shock, the scale read just over 240 pounds (I was in a winter coat, wearing shoes, and carrying a bag mind you). The next day, I spoke to a friend with a kinesiology degree, cleaned up my diet, started counting everything from calories to vitamins, and started a strict daily exercise regimen (a mix of cardio, free weights, and Adidas miCoach activities).
After all that, here I am. Still cracking away at my new routines.
I'd like to officially thank everyone for their great tips and suggestions. This is one hell of a community.
Feel free to friend me etc. Especially those of you who happen to be Canadian or from the northern States (It's nice to talk to people who can mutually ***** about the snow and its ability to ruin a routine haha)
