Sugar from fruits and vegetables

I am trying to keep my sugar to 40-45g a day according to my trainer. I eat a lot of sweet potatos and bananas though and they have tons of sugar! Is this sugar acceptable to eat or should I cut back on these too? Is sugar just sugar no matter what food it comes from? Any other suggestions to swap for sweet potatos and bananas....

Commented on a post like this yesterday. Basically I eat anywhere from 20-50 over my MFP sugar goal and 90-95% of it is from fruits and vegetables.0 -
Unless you have diabetes, there is no reason to count sugar, whether it's from fruit or candy. Just keep track of overall carbs.0

What you want to watch if you are eating sugar, be sure your foods have fiber in them. Any kind of natural growing food with sugar, will have fiber in it, which will help minimize a swing up in blood glucose. It's the blood glucose spike, that creates problems.0
