Encouragment For The Morning

Each of us has had a defining moment when we transitioned from believing that all hope was lost to realizing that all changes are possible with hard work & dedication. My moment essentially occurred when nearly all of my family members were diagnosed with medical ailments that I realized could be staved off or delayed by losing weight and living a healthier lifestyle.

Please share your defining moment... you never know who might be touched and/or helped by your story!

  • I was always really thin growing up but once I hit 20 I started to gain weight if I didn't watch what I ate. I went from 120 to 171...and didn't really realize how big I had gotten until I got on the scale that day and saw 171 and thought "What am I doing!? This isn't me!" And decided, enough is enough and something has to be done! I dedicated myself to eating low calorie meals, cutting down my portions, and exercising 5 days a week for 20-30 minutes a day. It did take me 2 years to get back down to 120, but I've learned that there is no quick fix. It is hard and it takes 100% dedication and motivation to get the job done. The highest I ever went back up was 140 but I still dont think that's horrible for being 5'5". I want to get back down to 120 because I am currently at 135 which is still a healthy weight, but I still want to look a little better in my jeans!
